About Us:


The Black Woman's Journey To Health & Fitness is a membership support group that was created by two dedicated individuals to address the ongoing problem of obesity in the African American community.

The founders of the organization, Dr. Karen E Copeland is a specialist in weight loss and fitness consulting. She is also a talented life coach and a master in collaborative marketing.

Damon Reed, a Certified Personal Trainer who specializes in strength and conditioning, body fat loss and nutrition.

Our program provides healthy eating guidelines designed specifically for each individual.


We design manageable workout programs, which promote effective weight loss and healthy body transformations.


We work as a team of concerned individuals and professionals who are determined to reverse the current health crisis of North America for people of color.

Our health team members include world class personal trainers, nutritionist, trained health coaches, alternative healers and many, many more.


We must learn that no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in and in spite of our environment, we can take ownership of living life fully in all areas of our lives. There is an unwavering commitment within us to continue to work toward raising the consciousness of our people so that we live the life we were created to live


MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of the Black Woman's Journey to Health & Fitness:


To assist women in their struggle toward healthy weight release

To provide professional support in the areas of nutrition and fitness


To encourage women to love their bodies right were they start


To build a strong community of healthy happy women which will stimulate a healthier existence for black families in our communities


To eradicate obesity and diabetes in the inner-city communities

GOALS:

THE GOAL OF THE BLACK WOMAN'S JOURNEY TO HEALTH & FITNESS PROGRAM:

1. Accountability: Increase access to coordinated, comprehensive, culturally sensitive, medical and psychosocial issues.

2. Education: Increase the skills and knowledge of the community in the identification and appropriate management of obesity related conditions and illness.

3. Community: Increase community awareness, involvement and understanding of obesity as a serious health issue.
